Unfortunately, as Jin points out, there's no way to rescue one without tipping off the Mongols on the other side of the beach, causing them to execute the other captive. Here you'll discover both Doshin the monk, and Togo, Hotoke's husband, who are both captured by Mongols on opposite sides of the beach. When you're done, you'll have to observe the shoreline. If you prefer direct combat, remember to target the Shaman first since he'll be boosting the Archer's difficulty. Because of the Shaman, a Standoff will only kill the Archer, but it may be worth initiating one if you're confident you can defeat him. When you get to the end of the trail, you'll encounter two Mongols: a Blue Archer and a Shaman. Examine them, and you'll be able to follow a trail of rice down the path. After doing so, look left to find another body down the path, also of the scouting party.įurther down the path you'll spot some small barrels of rice. Walk up to it to find that it isn't Hotoke's husband, but it is a member of the scouting party who set out to find Doshin. When you arrive you'll discover a body in the kudzu. Walk with Hotoke, and she'll lead you to an abandoned village in Kidafure Battleground, while relaying how she met her husband and how she lost her left arm. Hotoke will instead be up the nearby slope, dressed in blue and green. This isn't Hotoke, but speaking to her will reveal that Doshin's decision to give himself to the Mongols wasn't met with universal approval by the camp. Nearby you can find a woman in yellow who you can talk to. Jin agrees to assist in the search, and is directed to Hotoke, who can help lead him to them. They explain that a monk, Doshin, gave himself willingly and peacefully to make sure the camp was spared, and that the camp sent out men to search for where the Mongols are holding him. When you arrive, speak with the group of three men found near the shore of the lake to begin.
